EBT and SNAP in Colorado

Managing Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) details can be complex. To assist Colorado residents, here's an overview:

Understanding the Colorado Quest Card

The Colorado Quest Card functions similarly to a debit or credit card, loaded with food stamps and/or cash benefits. It's accepted at authorized stores. Upon approval for benefits, you'll receive this card. For assistance, contact Colorado's EBT customer service at 1-888-328-2656.

Applying for Food Stamps

The most straightforward method to apply for food stamps is online through the Colorado PEAK portal. Alternatively, you can apply in person by reaching out to your local office or calling the Colorado SNAP hotline at 1-800-536-5298.

Renewing Your Food Stamps

It's crucial to renew your food stamps before your certification period ends, which typically ranges from 6 to 12 months for most Colorado households. Confirm your specific certification period with your caseworker.

EBT Deposit Schedule

Benefits are distributed between the 1st and 10th of each month, determined by the last digit of your Social Security Number (SSN). For example, if your SSN ends in 1, benefits are available on the 1st of the month.

Reporting Changes

To report changes such as income adjustments, household size, or address updates, contact your local office or call the Colorado SNAP hotline at 1-800-536-5298.

Replacing a Lost or Stolen EBT Card

If your EBT card is lost or stolen, immediately call the Colorado EBT customer service at 1-888-328-2656 to report it and request a replacement.

Approved Groceries and Stores

Your EBT card can be used to purchase approved food items at authorized retailers. For a comprehensive list of eligible items and participating stores, consult the [USDA's SNAP Retailer Locator](https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/retailer-locator).

Additional Benefits

Beyond SNAP, Colorado offers programs like WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). For more information on these programs and to determine eligibility, visit the Colorado Department of Human Services.
